...halfway up, because fat cat Bear insists on climbing up there. This is the second time he has stranded himself, requiring me to haul out the big ladder to fetch him down. At least he's smart enough not to jump the 9 feet back to the ground.

For a home-made Coyote Roller: Mount a sturdy dowel horizontally, having first slipped a minimally shorter, somewhat larger diameter PVC pipe over it. The plastic pipe will spin quite nicely. I know because a friend uses this set-up, vertically, for the creep to keep mother ewes out of the lambs food.
